REDACTED Title Sequence

Project Roles: Video Editing, Motion Design, Graphic Design

Client: Kettlewell Studios

Deliverables: Title Sequence Research and Styleframes (Graphic Design), Final Title Sequence (Video Editing, Motion Design)

2026-02-02 - 2026-04-02

Background

Our class was given a project to each make a title sequence of a pre-existing show or our own show idea. The project aimed to give us a chance to flex our video and motion design skills learned over the program in an open and creative way to make something of our own. I chose to make a title sequence for something that didn’t exist yet.

The Project

We were required to research already-existing title sequences to figure out our design/branding for our own title sequence, then use what we learned to create styleframes in order to establish the look of our title sequence, and after that we would build out our full title sequence video

The Issues

  • Creative block with coming up with an idea for a show to create
  • Trying to create advanced graphics we hadn’t learned how to make

The Fixes

  • Designing the styleframes first and making an idea off of the design I knew I wanted to use
  • Using tutorials and AI to learn how to use new tools and effects

Process

I did some research of title sequences, games, and other media that had the sort of glitchy and mysterious look to their designs, inspiring certain tools, shapes, text, and effects I would use in the video, and I figured out how to properly use these designs through making styleframes.

Once the styleframes were done I started thinking about how to animate the different designs, then I grabbed stock videos and added some effects to them before animating the graphics I’d created in Photoshop on top of the videos to make the final title sequence

Impact & Final Product

This project was an awesome final big motion design project for my time at Fanshawe. I had a good amount of video experience before starting at Fanshawe, but it was cool to look back and see how much my motion graphic skills had improved since the program started since this was something new to me. I’m happy with the final result and grateful for the things I learned here.
