Every year, the level 3 students in the Interactive Media Design program compete to create that year’s website for the program, which is used to advertise the program, the students, their work, and the April Industry Night. In 2025, our team won the competition, so during our last semester we continued to work on the website to create something quality that would be used to advertise ourselves and our classmates to clients and employers

The website includes information about industry night, information about the program, a video/motion graphics reel, and a student portfolio showcase, with an overall goal of promoting the program and its students and getting students work. My role was to create the motion graphics reel, using footage of student projects, program footage, and other graphics to give information about Industry Night
We started with research, finding out what works for websites like these, and for me finding out what makes a good commercial for a college program. We looked at previous winners of the competition, as well as Fanshawe branding in their social media and brand guidelines
I started with research on Fanshawe’s past videos, past Industry Night videos, and other college program promotional videos. I then created styleframes to get an idea of the visuals of the video, and then I started working on the final product
We’ve created a website that has spread the name of students in the program and promoted our amazing program for the future of the industry. I’ve gotten to share the awesome work done by our program’s students and show others what we’ve learned and created.
This project was a really good experience in working in teams with set roles. I learned more about how to trust others in a team and communicate issues and accomplishments as we all work towards a common goal by each doing our own parts. This project showed me what teamwork in this industry is like when it comes to collaboration and trust, as well as how to do my part while also helping out where I’m needed.
